WHY BRUCH LAB IS A PIONEER IN THE EQUINE INFECTIOUS ANEMIA TEST (EIA) IN LATIN AMERICA?

Equine infectious anemia is an incurable and transmissible viral disease and is a disease with an almost worldwide distribution. Therefore is a huge obstacle to attract investments in equine market. For this reason, the OIE*, World Organisation for Animal Health, has order quality control of equine infectious anemia (EIA) worldwide.

Latin Americas was not attendant with a national competitive supplier test, so that was the opportunity to create BRUCH LAB.

HISTORIC

1981

In 1981 founded Bruch Laboratory, it was registered in the Ministry of Agriculture since 1980 under number 8140/80.  It started by an entrepreneur Guillermo Guembes Engineer and Matilde Sheppard MSc Veterinarian with her  management skills.  BRUCH is an acronyms made with countries ´s name founders and residence´countries. In the beginning, BRUCH was supplier  of Cell Culture in universities and vet viral vacines

1984

Brazilian´s 80 ´s is recognized as “lost decade” . Brazil lived an inflationary crisis For the Company survive needed more add value in the product. So it pivoted the production. It started technological development of viral antigens production.

Bruch Laboratories worked with CNPq to provide an Equine Infectious Anemia test. That was possible  through the PADCT / CNPq Support to Scientific and Technological Development Project No. 70.0200 / 84, to obtain in cell culture the protein p26 equine DNA of the Retrovirus Lentivirus of Equine Infectious Anemia to meet the needs of disease control in the country. This started the growth phase of the diagnostics market, previously non-existent. This made possible an increase in the performance of the veterinarian in a profitable segment.

2008

With the maturity of its processes and quality policy, BRUCH was accredited in the requirements of ISO / IEC 17025: 2005 “General Requirements for Testing and Calibration Laboratory Competence” under number CLF 0069 in 2008, It was the first veterinary laboratory in the country to accredit its Factory Lab. To give support to the clients BRUCH elaborated Manuals of Procedures of ISO 90001:2008 and of Good Manufacturing Practices.

2016

BRUCH accredited the Laboratory as a Producer of Certified Reference Material (ISO 17034: 2016 General requirements for the competence of reference material producers) under No. PMR 0008
